Description:

Diary, 15 June 1838 to 30 October 1838. The diary of George Everett begins on the day that he and his brother John sailed from London to Melbourne and Sydney aboard the vessel Hope. The entries cease around 30 of October 1838, which is the day before the shipping records state that the Hope entered Sydney Harbour. The Everett brothers subsequently left Sydney aboard the Maitland arriving at Newcastle on 12 of November, 1838. At this point in time, they began their journey to the New England region.
