Diary. The diary of Andrew Murray (station hand and bushman) describes his six month expedition with a party of seven men and an aboriginal boy, led by John McCrossins, from his home near Uralla to Queensland, 'to take up new country for grazing purposes'. (ts copy) .

Diary (73pp.) of Andrew Murray, on an expedition from Uralla to the Mackay district of Queensland, 1860-1862; a manuscript copy (43pp.) Of a similar diary, entitled 'An account of the discovery of the Mackay or Pioneer run, with incidents relating to the early settlement of Mackay and district', kept by John Mackay on the same expedition; testimonials to the character of Andrew Murray, dated 1904. See also A19. (The original diary in the handwriting of Mr. Mackay was in the possession of Mrs. Helen McCrossins, Uralla, in about 1880, and was traced to Mrs B.C. Archbold of Avoca Street, Randwick, in 1962; it has since disappeared).
