Description:

The business correspondences and accounts of Newton Boyd station between 1894 and 1956. A portion of this material is addressed to Roderick and Norman Archibald MacDonald at neighboring Broadmeadows station. The MacDonald family appeared to be in business with the Whitakers of Newton Boyd station with the two families, according to correspondence and accounts for the years 1926 to 1956, trading under the name of N.A. MacDonald and Company. The remaining miscellaneous material in the accession includes (i ) an unidentified notebook from 1899, (ii) five volumes of bank books, 1934 to 1948, (iii) bank statements for D.J. and F. Whitaker for the years 1948 to 1950, (iv) six volumes of cheque butts, 1923 to 1930 and (v) rainfall tables for Broadmeadows station during the years 1927 to 1928 and 1937.
