Description:

MS. Copy (xeroxed), in one large volume, of the diary of William Yabsley Jr. (for the period 13 March 1863 to 18 March 1902). This version of the diary bears the introductory note:'This is a facsimile of William Yabsley's Diary written by his son Arthur Henry in the year 1948'. For a sequel to this diary, covering the period 1902-1922 see accession A120-Mfm 7. Born 10 March 1843, eldest son of Yabsley the shipbuilder, the diarist worked under his father in the shipbuilding business and later prospered in the timber trade.
