Armidale City Band (1894 - )

The history of the Armidale City Band can be traced to 1894 when the group known as the Armidale Brass Band was formed. In 1902, a code of rules was adopted to control both music and discipline and in 1909, the name changed to Armidale City Band. Throughout its history, the Band has played at many important engagements, becoming a vital part of the community.
