Phillips, Evan Raymond (1936 - )

Born: 1936  Brisbane, Queensland

Evan Phillips was born in Brisbane in 1936. After completing his secondary schooling at Brisbane State High School, he attended the University of Queensland where he graduated with first class honours. He completed his doctoral thesis while employed at the University of Sydney. In 1968, Dr Phillips joined the staff of Wollongong University College. He became an Associate Professor in 1974. He published some thirty-seven papers, many of which relate to his major research interest in granitic and gneissic rock.
