The Weston family have conducted a printery in Kiama since 1863 when the business was founded by Joseph Weston to produce the Kiama Independent. For twenty years from the first issue of the paper on 7 July 1863, the printery was located near the present railway station. In August 1883 the business moved to its present site in Shoalhaven Street. New premises were erected on the site in 1968.
