Papers. Extracts from the shipboard diary of Rawdon McDouall, from England to Australia, 1840-1841; Thirteen letters to him in NSW from his family, living in England, 1840-1849, 1874; a few letters written by Rawdon to family members and three small amounts of official correspondence and legal documents relating to 'Eulowrie' and 'Ulumbarella', 1845-1855. Further records include genealogical notes, a station diary (microfilm) by an unidentified member of the family, 1878-1888, and a business letter to Mrs. M.S. McDouall , dated Dunbeacon, Upper Horton, 1 September 1930. These records are all photocopies. The originals are in the possession of the McDouall family. Rawdon McDouall (b.20 September 1823) was the son of the Reverend William McDouall of Bedfordshire. In 1840, he emigrated to Australia and in 1845 he became part-owner of 'Moona Plains', a pastoral station east of Walcha. Later interests in the Gwydir district included the 'Eulowrie' run, c.1851-1855 and 'Ulumbarella' (south of Bingara) where he lived from 1852 until his death in 1884.
