Towards the end of the Nineteenth Century the cattle stations 'Aytondale' and 'Abbey Green' belonging to W.M. Loder and George Loder respectively specialized in the breeding of Hereford cattle though 'Abbey Green' also carried sheep. These Loder properties were situated to the south-west of Singleton on the road to Broke. Loders' 'Abbey Green' is not to be confused with a property of the same name at Llangothlin near Guyra in northern NSW. The two volumes in this accession comprise (i) Aytondale: Australian Hereford Stud Book 1859-1928 - giving name of bull date calved breeder's name owner's name and details of animal's pedigree. (ii) Abbey Green: Stud Book 1921-1940. |
