SCSS
Archival Resources

The inaugural meeting of the South Coast Conservation Society (S.C.C.S.) was held on 5 December 1969. The Society's aim was to encourage conservation of the region's natural environment and to protest against excessive development. The effects of coal mining on the Illawarra escarpment, transportation problems, coastal development by industry, and preservation of parklands were major issues addressed by the Society.
