Copies of the reminiscences of William Telfer Jr., Who was born at Calala (West Tamworth) in July 1841, was the son of the first manager of 'Warrah', in the employ of the Australian Agricultural Company under 'Commissioner' Parry. The reminiscences relate to the period from the 1840s to the years after Federation. The original manuscript from which these copies were made is in the UNE Archives (A147 - V213). It was found among papers deposited by Gen. J.M.L. MacDonald in 1961, and for more than a decade after that was known as 'the shepherd's diary' or 'the Wallabadah MS.', Until the identity of the author was definitely established in 1972. 120 pages per copy |
