Letters addressed to George & Margaret Wyndham of Dalwood in the Hunter Valley. They are from Georges parents living at Dinton in England & his brothers & sisters. Some have been published with an introduction by Charlotte May Wright nee McKenzie Wyndhams granddaughter

Description:

Papers. The miscellaneous accounts, letters and documents of Margaret Wyndham and her family of Dalwood Station between 1827 and 1870. This collection contains (i) account for food and lodging for George Wyndham in London during 1827, (ii) an undated partial genealogy of the Wyndham family commencing at the marriage of William Wyndham and Letitia Popham, (iii) notes on the duties of two domestic servants and a study programme for the days Monday through Saturday (iv) the accounts from Jules Pillet, Francis Giles and David Jones of Sydney and Thresher and Glenny of London for the years 1853 to 1868, (v) pages from a journal noting the temperatures and climatic changes between 18 January and 28 February 1855, and (vi) a two part discourse entitled of The Rise and Progress of the System of Parliamentary Government in England. Also included in this accession are eight letters, sent between 1868 and 1870, from Margaret Wyndham to her daughter-in-law Fanny Wyndham at Winton station, Goondiwindi.
