Description:

The earliest records in this group go back to the period when Edward D.S. Ogilvie was the proud owner of the rich and extensive pastoral station 'Yulgilbar' in the fertile valley of the Clarence River. The records include: stud books 1859-1875; ledgers 1876, 1887 and 1894-1895; a journal, 1896-1897; branding book, 1869-1874 and cattle sale book, 1874-1875 (in the one volume); a horse book, 1901-1918; letterbook, 1904-1909 (containing press-copies of correspondence signed by the station manager, J. Campbell); a quarterly cattle muster book (1918-1936) and a daily record of transactions (1926-1946). See also accession number A002 for further Ogilvie records.
