Australian Peace Council (1941 - 1958) |

The Australian Peace Council was a pacifist movement formed in 1949, as the Australian branch of the World Peace Council. The World Peace Council grew out of the World Peace Congress, held in Paris in April 1949. The APC would come under attack by various conservative political groups and from some quarters within the Australian Labor Party because of its prominent Communist Party links. |
