Johnson, Sir Elliot (1862 - )

Sir Elliot Johnson was a scenic artist, telegraphist, seaman (2nd mate), journalist and jack-of-all-trades. Born in Newcastle-on-Tyne, Johnson travelled extensively, even seeing active service in the Chile-Peruvian war. He ultimately settled in Sydney, whence he entered the Australian Federal Parliament as the representative for Lang in 1903.
